Worker at Banff Hill fined for a death after chairlift accident

The father of a man killed while doing maintenance on a chairlift said the $250,000 fine imposed on the owners of the Alberta ski hill where the death occurred is fair. The money will go toward an endowment for Selkirk College in B.C., which has a ski-resort operations and management program.

British climber dies whilst climbing without helmet or safety rope by Mont Blanc

A British climber plunged 130ft to his death while scaling a rockface in the French Alps with no safety rope. The 44-year-old, also not wearing a helmet, was killed instantly as he climbed the 12,000ft Milieu glacier.

80 year old pensioner injures himself whilst attempting to ski a daredevil 2 metre jump

An 80-year-old man who attempted a two-metre ski jump on the weekend was rushed to hospital with a broken hip. An Ambulance Victoria helicopter flew the injured man, a regular skier at Mt Buller since the 1950s, off the mountain to Melbourne yesterday afternoon.
