A trainee snowboard instructor is using social media to gather support for a new halfpipe to be built in the resort. Kieran MacDonald Sharp, along with season workers, locals, pro riders and tourists, is asking the Compagnie du Mont Blanc to have a permanent halfpipe built and maintained in the Chamonix valley.
Previous efforts have failed, despite sponsorship offers, but it is hoped that the new director of CMB might see things a bit differently. Kieran hope that a solid proposal, a sponsorship deal, a dedicated park team and enough public support will persuade the CMB to back the project. “We’re not asking for anything massive – just a 400m pipe like Zermatt’s would be enough to keep local riders happy” Kieran commented.
