For the first time the Tour de France is coming to the Swiss mountain resort of Verbier as the 15th stage of the tour is scheduled to finish late in the afternoon in Verbier on Sunday 19th July, following a 700m, 8.5km elevation between Le Chable and Verbier during the final ascent.
To coincide with the event, mountain holiday specialist Ski Verbier are opening their moutainside 4* chalet style hotel Mont Gele to visitors from 15th July – 5th August 2009. The hotel is ideally located within walking distance of Verbier town centre.
The hotel will remain open for the Verbier Festival, 17 days of world class music, from orchestral concerts to opera and chamber music, with a programme of performances, free concerts, public workshops and open rehearsals as the event spills out into the bars and cafes between 17th July – 2nd August.
