Well, not quite but there is snow on the ground and skiers and snowboarders have been out enjoying it. 80 tonnes of snow was laying on the ground in Kelvingrove Park today. It was though made at the nearby SNO!zone, the indoor snow centre at Braehead, and was brought over in 4 lorry loads.
Around 1,000 people gathered at the park to watch Scotland’s best young professional skiers and snowboarders performing some jumps, tricks and turns.
There were live DJs, family entertainment, prizes and après ski in the form of a licensed bar.
“We wanted to show everyone what some of the top skiers and snowboarders from Scotland can do,” says SNO!zone brand manager, Lisa Allan.
“The event was a huge success with the crowds turning out to enjoy the atmosphere and watch our riders demonstrate their gravity defying stunts.”
Who needs the real stuff to have fun?!
It’s the second year the event has been held and we hope to bring you a few more pictures of the fun in the park later.
