Les Gets in the French Portes du Soleil region has created a brand new “Espace des Mappys” beginner’s ski area this season. The new slope is designed to help first time skiers of all ages learn to ski in an area away from faster skiers.
Easily accessible from the top of the Chavannes bubble lift, this beginners’ zone has been set up in a calm safe place, just beside the main ski fields. It has two easy to use beginner’s moving carpet lifts, a rope tow handle lift and four gentle beginners’
Mappys is also easy to get to on foot, ideal for families and friends wishing to encourage their protégé. Ski professionals are reported to have been impressed with this new zone as it has significantly increased the number of slopes available for teaching beginners at Les Gets.
