Chile and Argentina get new dumps
Summer has returned to Austria. Mild weather means soft and slushy snow but there is still a good amount of skiing on the glaciers that are open. In France the best snow cover is on the glacier skiing area at Les Deux Alpes. At Tignes, the riding at the top of the glacier is holding up OK but lower down the snow cover is patchy.
Saas Fee and Zermatt in Switzerland along with Cervinia in Italy offer great riding at the moment under fantastic sunny skies. Clouds are expected to move in over the weekend across the European resorts, with the chance of rain falling.
Spring conditions prevail in Australia still. Most resorts have a good base depth so mild weather isn’t affecting them too much. A return to cold and snowy weather is expected for early next week which is great news.
In New Zealand great riding can be enjoyed this week on the groomed slopes across the country. Cloudy weather is forecast this weekend which could bring fresh snowfall.
Chile and Argentina both received fresh snow. The most fell in Chile where Portillo reported 20cm fresh on Wednesday 3rd July. They’re also expecting a very snowy weekend with more than half a metre expected at Portillo and Valle Nevado.
