Over 150cm of fresh snow is dumped in Alaska this week
There was heavy snowfall in Europe on Wednesday 15th February with resorts such as Klosters in Switzerland receiving around 50cm. On Thursday 16th February it was still snowing in many resorts across Switzerland which included Klosters with around 20cm. Snow continued to fall on Thursday across almost all resorts in Austria. In some locations, such as Lech and Zurs, a fantastic 65cm had fallen and it was still snowing.
Alyeska in Alaska, USA received around 150cm of fresh snow earlier this week. They’ve got a superb base depth of nearly five metres so far and are enjoying another good season. As of Thursday 16th February they had received nearly 16 metres of snow since the beginning of winter.
It’s been drier in Canada but more snow is expected this weekend and into next week. In Kicking Horse it should snow every day until at least Friday 24th February.
