Colorado ski resorts benefit from excellent snow cover early on
Snow conditions in Europe remain largely unchanged from Monday’s report, with the majority of our featured ski resorts enjoying bright sunshine and good quality groomed runs this week. Val Senales in Italy was the only European resort to witness any significant snowfall since Monday 24th October, although light snowfall was reported at Kaprun on Wednesday 26th October.
In France, Tignes and Les Deux Alpes are open with cloud cover increasing by the day which could lead to some snowfall early next week.
Turoa in New Zealand is now our only featured southern hemisphere resort to still be open for snowsports however the resort was closed on Thursday 27th October due to wet weather.
Likewise, in North America, Timberline is our only open featured resort which will open to riders for the weekend on Friday 28th October. Although we do not feature any Colorado resorts in our summer reports, it is worth noting that the state has had a fantastic start to the season. Resorts such as Loveland received up to half a metre of fresh snow on Wednesday 26th October providing fantastic powder riding. Loveland and Arapahoe Basin are currently open for snowsports.
