Snow cannons also being used to improve the open runs
Skiing on European glaciers is quite limited at the moment. Two areas are open in Austria, two in Switzerland, one in Italy and none in France. Spring still dominates in Australia although they did enjoy some fresh snow earlier this week. It also went colder overnight allowing them to run the snow cannons a little and improve the open runs.
New Zealand is experiencing similar weather. It’s turned mild and sunny there recently and spring skiing can be found at all our featured resorts. Turoa on the North Island has the deepest base depth in the country.
The best conditions are arguably down in South America at the moment. Fresh snow fell at Cerro Catedral in Argentina and at Portillo, in Chile; areas of powder can be found off piste even though the last storm was over a week ago.
