Snow report Fresh snow in Mayrhofen ski resort

It’s gone from unusually warm in the Alps to unusually cold. There’s been lots of fresh snow in Austria, right down to lower levels. Even Mayrhofen town (around 650m above sea level) received snow. Both Hintertux and Molltal were closed because of the stormy weather.

It’s been very warm in Australia recently. Great spring snow can be found everywhere. Expect slushy snow in the afternoon sun but extensive snowmaking earlier in the season means the major Australian resorts have plenty of snow on piste.

It’s a lot better over in New Zealand which continues to receive snow. Dustings fell at most places over the weekend but Mount Lyford has now closed for the season. Up on the North Island, Turoa has the deepest snow depth of its season so far.

Spring weather is dominant in Chile and Argentina but this is to be expected for the time of year. Locals in Portillo reported soft snow but there’s still a great cover of snow over the mountain.
