Snowfall continues across Europe but temperatures expected to rise
To the delight of most, snowfall across European resorts has continued. Switzerland certainly witnessed much of this where powder skiing both on and off piste is the current theme, and Italian resorts in the west also received a good amount of this week.
This snowfall intensity is now finally decreasing which will be a great help for resorts to open more facilities as they become safe to ski. However, the bad news is that some resorts such as Kitzbuhel in Austria are expecting rain as temperatures are expecting to increase to around plus 4 degrees.
In America, a dusting of snow fell earlier this week in Colorado. Big Sky in Montana received 30cm of new snow on Wednesday 21st December and a number of American resorts are expecting fresh snow over the coming days.
Fresh snowfall is forecast in Canada, heaviest in the west. The snow is forecast to fall from Friday 23rd December through to at least the end of December.
