It appears Bode Miller plans to be at the World Cup openers in Soelden this October, probably without a coach. In a widely distributed report carried by the Austrian News Agency Miller reportedly told Head Skis Race Director Rainer Salzgeber he had not made his mind up about racing at the 2010 Olympics, and that he would not take a season off. Instead, Salzgeber says, Miller plans to continue. The two met at the Kapruner Glacier Thursday.
The two time American World Cup champion also told Salzgeber he wants to go into the season without a coach, and that he would do without any formal summer training.
As for the Vancouver Olympics, Salzgeber told the Austrian press Miller was not focused on the event. He is reportedly signed with Head through the 2012 season.
Miller told the race director that he would not deliver a comment to the press. “I have no confidence in the media,” he told Salzgeber.
Miller has agreed to participate in the Paganella Ski World Alpine Rock Fest Dec. 22, that announcement was made a month ago.
