Courchevel ski resort gets ten Michelin stars

Courchevel, the exclusive French resort, has achieved a remarkable achievement in the new edition of the illustrious Michelin Guide to the world’s best restaurants. Seven establishments in the resort are included, scoring an impressive 10 stars between them, believed to be a higher score than ever achieved by the restaurants of any ski resort.

The winners include long-established gourmet havens in the resort such as Le Chabichou with chef Michel Rochedy and Le Bâteau Ivre, headed by chef Jean-Pierre Jacob, both of which have receibved two stars.

Other, more recent recipients of their stars include La Table du Kilimanjaro, which received one star last year, or the four new entrants in the latest edition of the Michelin guide. These include chef Pierre Gagnaire with two stars for Les Airelles and Le 1947 with Yannick Alléno who received the same grade.

Enrico Bernardo’s Il Vino and L’Azimut with François Moureaux were the other two winners with one star each.
