Fancy skiing in Texas?

Skiing in North Texas?  Snow/Sport Entertainment Ltd. has announced that they are starting a $70 million dollar project entitled the ”Texas Alps”. The Alps is part of a 250,000 square foot facility near the Grapevine Mills Shopping Mall and the venture would have the ski slope, an indoor ice climbing wall and a luge track.

It is said to take two years to completion. When you ride the lifts at Vail, you will notice that every other person you meet is from Dallas.  When a Vail official was asked about their thoughts on the ”Texas Alps” they responded with the following, “we love the great people from Dallas who have been coming to Vail. for decades to ski.  So in response to the planned “Texas Alps” we have decided to shoot anyone involved in the project in the head with a crossbow.”

There are indoor facilities throughout the world including Dubai, Japan, Germany and France.  There are numerous other planned indoor ski resorts in the US as well.
