Les Deux Alpes spends a million Euros upgrading it's signposting
Les 2 Alpes, one of France’s largest resorts, has spent a million Euros installing new signage this winter. The resort, with over 200km of runs is one of the largest in France and Europe so replacing signage is a big job. This huge operation will replace virtually all of the old signs on the mountain, some of which are becoming
Time has been spent working out the ideal locations for each sign and directional arrow for maximum visibility during the skier or boarder’s descent. The new signs are designed to be visible from at least 80 metres away to someone with average eye sight and will include reference to the lift the runs take you to, rather than just the piste name.
The task is so big that work will continue on its completion in 2011 after work stops during the ski season and a team of six is working full time on the project.
