Val d’Isere in France and the Swiss resort of Lenzerheide both open superb new swimming and leisure centres this month for the 2009–10 season. Lenzerheide already has the biggest hotel hammam in the Alps located at Hotel Schweizerhof, but the new H2Lai wellness pool will guarantee further exhilaration after a day on the ski slopes.

Roughly 20 million Swiss Francs have been invested in the new facility’s construction, with work lasting two years.

Resort guests can now enjoy a permanently heated outdoor swimming pool (35 degrees), with massage couch and body spray shower, as well as a lavishly appointed sauna and wellness facility with rooftop sun deck.

There’s also a new wading pool and a long slide to guarantee amusement for youngest guests.

The new centre at Val d’Isere is an excellent new Aquasports centre. The 5000 square metre building has two pools, climbing walls, sports hall, weights room, squash courts and wellness lounge with saunas, Turkish bath and hydro-massage.
