Extra altitude makes buns extra fluffy
An unusual distraction for skiers arriving at the top of the Sunburst Express Chairlift in Sun Peaks ready to ski their first run of the day is a strong whiff on cinnamon buns. Those who follow their noses to the Sunburst Lodge at the Canadian resort are rewarded by one of the 250 -300 cinnamon buns baked high on the mountain each morning.
“The elevation at Sunburst (1849m) means the cinnamon buns baked up there are twice as big and extra fluffy, so it’s often a first stop for skiers and snowboarders when they head up the mountain in the morning,” explains Bobbe Lyall, Food and Beverage Manager for the British Columbian resort.
