Last Friday afternoon, the Belleayre Mountain snowmaking staff tested the snow guns in order to be prepared for the dropping temperatures. It is the goal of the DEC to open Belleayre Mountain’s season doors on Saturday, November 14th with their Annual Tap into Winter Party, beginning at 1:00pm.

An open rail jam event, Fashion Showcase, and Bar Party will be a great celebration, with a promotional ticket price of $25. Also on sale over the weekend will be Belleayre’s classic $99 3-packs, available on-site only, at the mountain’s guest services. If all goes according to plan, 2009–2010 may be the earliest opening Belleayre has seen in several years.

Belleayre Mountain offers a lot more than just an early opening date this winter season. Launching its new “Snow Therapy” concept to the public, the mountain is offering a variety of new ski and snowboard programs as well as valuable promotions, in particular, for winter season passholders.

In order to integrate holistic health with Nordic lifestyle recreation, Snow Therapy at Belleayre Mountain will offer special ski school workshops, discounted partner amenities, and a variety of complimentary mountain activities. In addition, the Program’s partners, including Woodstock Physical Therapy and Mid-Hudson Athletic Club (MAC), are giving Snow Therapy participants several more reasons to make Belleayre Mountain their “on snow” therapeutic venue this winter. In order to promote cross-fitness training, MAC gyms will be hosting “Ski Conditioning” Classes throughout the winter, including two complimentary, demo classes on November 7th and November 11th.

Other deals include free 30-day gym memberships to Belleayre Season Passholders and discounted massage prices and personal training fees. Woodstock Physical Therapy will be combating injuries for the mountain visitors, Passholders, and employees. Several workshops will be scheduled throughout the winter educating athletes about common injuries and demonstrating relevant exercises to promote rehabilitation and joint and muscle strength. Further, Woodstock Physical Therapy is giving season passholders 20% off of treatment appointments for cash transactions or customers that are uninsured.

Belleayre Mountain is a year-round outdoor recreation area in the Catskill Mountains operated by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
