With Chamonix open in to May and the resort still reporting one of the deepest snow bases in Europe (around 4m/13 feet on top), it seems a good time to party, and so the famous resort will be staging a Winter Sessions Weekender on 16th – 18th April. The event is being organised by World Sessions who describe themselves as the leading Alpine party makers who for the last five years have worked on over 70 events and party tours, including some of the largest freesport competitions and festivals in Europe from the infamous Gumball Rally to Glastonbury Festival.

The Weekender will feature music rom dozes of acts including Shy FX, Stamina MC, Nathan ‘Flutebox’ Lee, Wandan, J.A.M plus many more and there’ll be plenty of events including the Fancy Dress Trash Ball, mountain top DJ gigs and performances, an Air Show, Freestyle Ski and Snowboard Jam, live art installations and après ski parties.
“The Winter Sessions Weekender, is a three-day explosion of eclectic boutique events of music, art, performances, competitions, fancy dress and general silliness spanning the valley‟s best loved locations and venues. The Weekender celebrations offer up the best daytime entertainment from quirky competitions to jaw dropping air show displays alongside evening line ups from après ski entertainment to concerts and after-parties.” said a World Sessions company statement.

Set at 2000m on the mountain, The Brevent Fete du Village kicks off the proceedings of merriment and silliness involving the Village Disco and I-Pod Battle, BBQ, Alpine Bake Off and The King of Ping – the very first high altitude table tennis competition!

Moving from mountain to valley, the Winter Sessions Weekender Party hosted at the infamous Le Podium will showcase DJ‟s, MC‟s & artists including what promises to be the most original performance in Chamonix this season, flute-playing beat boxer, Nathan ‘Flutebox’ Lee and Wandan not to mention drum and bass heavy weights, Shy FX & Stamina MC.

A three day weekend pass to the Winter Sessions Weekender costs 5 Euros and is available in local outlets in resort or online. A limited number of tickets for evening events at Le Podium (Friday 16th & Saturday 17th April), are also available for 20 Euros.
