Snow is forecast for Saturday across Austrian resorts. The sunny weather in Italy, France and Switzerland on Thursday will be short lived as the clouds will start to build on Friday and new snow is forecast for the weekend.

Dustings of snow are expected in Andorra this weekend and the lower temperatures will help the pistes to firm up.

The weather at the end of this week in Germany will be a combination of sunny and cloudy spells, with clouds building over weekend. The heavier clouds could bring more fresh snow to the German resorts.

Sunny weather is forecast this weekend at our Swedish and Norwegian resorts, although Voss and Åre could receive some new snow. It will be a bright sunny weekend for Bulgarian resorts with low temperatures so skiers should wrap up well. The recent wintry weather at Scottish resorts is forecast to move aside for some sunnier weather at the start of this weekend.

Colorado currently has the most open resorts of any state in America.

Loveland (46cm) and Arapahoe Basin (46cm) were the first non-glacier resorts in the country to open around three weeks ago. Their snow is largely man-made but recent natural snowfall has added to the covering.

On the east coast Sunday River (15/30cm) has been open for the last two weekends. They had one lift and one run open, skiing on entirely man-made snow.

They are still closed during the week, although they are expected to open daily soon.

The Mt. Norquay area at Banff (30cm) opened on Saturday. Only one lift and one run were open but it was the first skiing in the Banff area of the 2009/10 season.

The Cascade Chair was the only lift that operated on Saturday and Sunday, as they are only open for weekends at the moment.

Lake Louise is scheduled to open on 6th November and Sunshine Village should open on 11th November.

All the other resorts we report on in Canada are closed but Jasper is expected to open on 11th November.
