Lakes and mountains with Thomson

Thomson has launched their main edition of next summer’s Lakes & Mountains brochure featuring over 60 resorts in nine countries and a wide choice of destinations: hotels, B&B, self-catering properties as well as tours, fly drives, cruises and twin centre holidays.

There is also one unique, and very special service Thomson offer — weddings. Get married at 6,500 feet in the beautiful setting of Zell am See in the Austrian Alps, or on an island on Lake Bled in Slovenia, or at sea level in Verona (Romeo, oh Romeo…), Venice, Lake Garda, or Lake Maggiore and Salzburg, which are new this year.

New for 2011 are flights from Birmingham and Manchester to Milan Malpensa for resorts on Lake Maggiore and Lake Como and to Lugano via Zurich in Switzerland departing from Heathrow, Birmingham and Manchester for Locarno and Lugano resorts.

All-inclusive holidays continue to be popular and for a week’s stay prices are from £499:

¼  Lake Garda: Parc Hotel Paradiso Resort, Hotel Leonardo Da Vinci and Royal Village

¼  Lake Como: Hotel Britannia Excelsior

¼  Lake Zell: Resorthotel Schwebebahn, Hotel Waldhof, Hotel Daxer and Fischerwirt

¼  Mountains: Hotel Alpin (Scheffau), Hotel Bergland (Seefeld), Hotel Bauer (Saalbach)

Thomson ‘Discover’ packages continue to be well-liked with our customers and we offer ‘Heights & Sights of Northern Italy’ – includes day trips to Venice, Verona, Florence and Dolomites; ‘Taste of Tirol’ and ‘Austrian Lake Discovery’ – Salzburg, Berchtesgaden and Krimml waterfalls; ‘Discover Slovenia’ – Julian Alps, Lake Bled and Lake Bohinj; The ‘Maggiore Discovery’ – Lake Lugano, Lake Como, Lake Orta, Zermatt and Milan and ‘A Taste of Switzerland’ – Chocolate Train, Gruyere Castle and cheese factory, boat trip and Gstaad – with prices from £519 per person.

Thomson continues to offer a free walking guide service in nine resorts as well as pre-bookable guided walks on Madeira. Free child places at selected accommodation on every departure date and family value child prices from just £179 are on offer to underline the importance of being a family friendly specialist.

Prices start from £329 per person for 7 nights’ self catering at the Doria Apartments in Garda on Lake Garda departing on 4th or 7th May 2011 from Gatwick including return airport transfer.
