Around 16,000 British skiers and boarders are expected to use a brand new airport located North West of Barcelona to access ski resorts in Andorra and the Spanish Pyrenees this winter. New line up additions have been announced for the Big Snow Festival in Arinsal this March. UK hip hop act Wretch 32 will perform alongside Example and the Radio 1 DJ line up in Arinsal, Andorra from 13th – 20th March 2011. Kissy Sell Out, Danny Byrd, DJ Fresh, Hot City, High Rankin, Goldie and Mickey Finn also join the line up.
Andorra is a small country situated neatly between France and Spain. Because of Andorra’s location in the mountains, there are excellent opportunities for snow skiing. Andorra has a total population of about 85,000 inhabitants and a healthy dose of around 10 million travelers annually. Andorra’s highest elevation, which is 9,665 feet above sea level, is at the Comapedrosa peak.

Andorra’s new ‘Big Snow Festival,’ which was first staged in the tiny, snowy principality in the Pyrenees between France and Spain last March, will be back for a repeat showing next winter, the event’s organisers have confirmed. Last winter’s event saw Judge Jules, Calvin Harris and Pendulum performing, along with many others, and next winter’s event in Arinsal, part of the VallNord ski region, from the 13th – 20th March 2011, is promising more of the same.

The first ever Big Snow Festival which took place in Andorra last in March was a great success and event organisers are already working on plans to grow the festival for next year and beyond. The laid back resort of Arinsal in Andorra played host to hundreds of festival goers gathered for seven solid days of music, snowboarding, fun and mayhem with over 80 per cent of the crowd reports to be skiing and snowboarding for the first time.
