Avoriaz ski resort upgrades
Avoriaz readies for 50th season upgrades
The eternally stylish French ski resort of Avoriaz celebrates 50 years in operation next winter (2011–12) with a host of new projects in the resort. A new gondola linking Morzine and Avoriaz is the main infrastructure improvement on the slopes themselves, but there will also be substantial expansion of the resort village itself. Two new resort districts, Crozats and Amara, with nine new Pierre and Vacances’ and Maeva residences, 500 new apartments, and a new spa centre, with swimming pool, Turkish baths, nursery, restaurant, bars and shops will add several thousand new beds to the resort.
