New gondola for Saalbach

Visitors to Austria’s big Saalbach Hinterglemm ski area will find another modern gondola serving the huge ski area with over 200 kilometres of piste this winter. The new eight seater gondola (and heated seats at that!) is the latest spend for Saalbach which has pumped more than 200 million Euros in on-mountain improvements, particularly upgrading its fleet of 55 lifts, over the past decade. Snowmaking has also been constantly improved, now covering 90% of the huge area.

Designer chairlifts in Ischgl

Ischgl, already famous for staging major pop and rock concerts at the start (in late November) and end (in early May) of each season, is making sure it’s season long operation on the slopes continues to stay ahead of the competition. Among the increasingly long list of stars who have appeared here are Elton John, Peter Gabriel, Diana Ross, Kylie Minogue and Rihanna.

New chairlifts in the Jungfrau

Switzerland’s Jungfrau ski area, one of the world’s most beautiful, has opened three new chairlifts this month. The region takes in the historic resorts of Grindelwald, Wengen and Murren; as well as the valley resorts of Interlaken and Lauterbrunnen, each of which has been welcoming British skiers since the earliest days of the sport more than a century ago.

Courchevel installs a new six seater chairlift for the coming season

Courchevel will install a new six seater chairlift for the coming season, equipped with the Magnestick system, to modernize the link between Courchevel 1850 and Courchevel 1650. This is the main part of a host of initiatives and improvements for the coming winter at the famous French resort.
