Body found in Swiss Alps confirmed as missing Briton Myles Robinson
A body found near a Swiss ski resort has been confirmed as that of a Briton who vanished after leaving a bar. Myles Robinson, 23, disappeared after leaving the Blue Monkey bar in Wengen to take a friend to her hotel just after 0200 GMT on 22 December.

Climber dies in Highland mountain accident in Lost Valley in the Three Sisters Gully in Glencoe
A climber has died in an accident on a mountain in the Highlands. Mountain rescue teams were called at about 1655 GMT after a report of a fall in an area known as the Lost Valley in the Three Sisters Gully in Glencoe. One climber, who has not been identified, sustained fatal injuries and a man was taken to Belford Hospital in Fort William for treatment. Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team and police were called to the scene to help with the rescue.

Vancouver bid chief Jack Poole dies
The man who headed the campaign to bring the 2010 Winter Olympics to Vancouver died on Friday, hours after learning that the Olympic flame he dreamed of bringing to Canada had begun its journey.
Jack Poole, 76, died in a Vancouver hospital after a long battle with pancreatic cancer, according to the Vancouver Organising Committee.
Poole was chairman of the 2010 Winter Olympics organising committee and had also chaired Vancouver’s successful bid in 2003 to host next year’s Games.

Austrian skiing legend Toni Sailer dies at 73
Toni Sailer, the athlete who helped shape Austria’s image as a skiing nation, died at the age of 73, his skiing club in Kitzbuehel announced Tuesday. The Tyrolean skiing icon passed away Monday after a long illness, Austrian press agency APA quoted the club as saying.
