Ski Dubai counts down to five year milestone

Five years on from the attraction’s landmark opening in November 2005, Ski Dubai has made a name for itself as a truly unique property in the Middle East as the world’s first mountain-themed, all-inclusive indoor ski resort in the desert and maintaining the title of one of Dubai’s world famous icons.

Welcoming the onset of the cooler months to come, Ski Dubai, the UAE’s one and only indoor snow arena held another of its slope events on Saturday 18th September. Consisting of competitions in slalom, freestyle and a combination of the two, Ski Dubai welcomed snow sports enthusiasts both juniors and adults to race for points and hit the slopes with staggering skill and speed as spectators were welcomed to enjoy the festival atmosphere, courtesy of the musical skills of DJ Bliss.

With temperatures hovering around the forties and many UAE residents planning to take shelter indoors from the scorching heat, Ski Dubai is gearing up to offer a cool summer to its visitors. The only snow experience in the region that can be enjoyed throughout the year is offering a number of exciting activities for the next three months catering to all ages.

Acclaimed former World Cup skiing sensation, Franco Cavegn was given a VIP reception at Ski Dubai yesterday, where he demonstrated the skills needed to compete at three Winter Olympics games.
