Korea Ski Korean Korean ski resorts

Occupying the tip of the Korean peninsular, South Korea is known as one of the four Asian Tigers and is a great outdoors country with a swathe of lofty mountains and pristine lakes and rivers. The principal tourist attractions here are the modern and high-tech capital of Seoul, the historic city of Gyeongju, Seorak-san National Park and the tropical Jeju Island. There are many superb ski resorts in Korea, with the ski seasons typically running from December to March.

Bears Town Resort is a large ski resort within the environs of Seoul that comes with 11 high quality slopes and a system of nine high-capacity ski lifts. Gangchon ski resort has slopes for every level of skier and snowboarder, from beginner to expert level, as well as offering night skiing.

Phoenix Park is another large scale resort that is famed as the location of the acclaimed television show Endless Love. In addition to the 12-piste ski resort there is an 18-hole golf course and a smaller nine-hole course. Other resorts in Korea include the Yongpyong and Seoul resorts.

Seoul Incheon International Airport is the main entry point into South Korea, receiving several international carriers a day from around the world. Other international airports can be found at Busan and Jeju, where flights go to and from China and Japan, while Gimpo Airport in Seoul is used for domestic traffic. Rail travel in Korea is fast and efficient and bus travel is excellent. The roads are of good quality in South Korea, but urban driving can be very difficult due to congestion and parking problems.
