If you are a real piste explorer and find that in avarage resorts you have covered the area in a few days and spend the rest of the week slightly bored running the same old slopes, Portes Du Soleil is one of the largest ski areas in the world and spans from Mont Blanc in France to The Geneva lake in Switzerland, made of 12 resort the area has over 400 miles of ski sloped, 208ski-lifts all accessible using a single inclusive card. Snow dumps over the Portes du Soleil are common and snowmaking ensure that slopes are kept healthy during warmer periods.

Les Gets in the French Portes du Soleil region has created a brand new “Espace des Mappys” beginner’s ski area this season. The new slope is designed to help first time skiers of all ages learn to ski in an area away from faster skiers.

Les Gets in the French Portes du Soleil region has announced it will open this weekend, Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th December 2009, running its lifts free of charge for guests lucky enough to be in resort.
