Killington in Vermont, the leading East Coast US destination resort for Brits not wanting to fly as far as the Rockies, is spending nearly $7m this summer on improvements for the coming winter, the lion’s share going on a spectacular new mountain restaurant. The resort’s old Peak Lodge, originally built as the return station for the resort’s first gondola more than 40 years ago, and the creation of a superb new mountain lodge.
Courchevel, the exclusive French resort, has achieved a remarkable achievement in the new edition of the illustrious Michelin Guide to the world’s best restaurants. Seven establishments in the resort are included, scoring an impressive 10 stars between them, believed to be a higher score than ever achieved by the restaurants of any ski resort.

Two of Chamonix’s best restaurants are setting themselves challenges in the cuisine they supply. For the Café de l’Arve the objective is to only serve food mood from ingredients sourced locally, while the Restaurant L’Impossible, now under new ownership, is attempting to become the first fully organic restaurant in Chamonix.
