Avoriaz ski resort upgrades

The eternally stylish French ski resort of Avoriaz celebrates 50 years in operation next winter (2011–12) with a host of new projects in the resort. A new gondola linking Morzine and Avoriaz is the main infrastructure improvement on the slopes themselves, but there will also be substantial expansion of the resort village itself. Two new resort districts, Crozats and Amara, with nine new Pierre and Vacances’ and Maeva residences, 500 new apartments, and a new spa centre, with swimming pool, Turkish baths, nursery, restaurant, bars and shops will add several thousand new beds to the resort.

Ski resorts across the American West are ready to unveil impressive new offerings that include more chairlifts and ski terrain, upscale hotels, snowmaking, remodeled day lodges and conference centers, expanded night skiing and a mountaintop restaurant. New Hampshire resort upgrades

All six of New Hampshire’s ski areas situated close to the resort town of North Conway have announced upgrades for the coming winter. Cranmore ski area, the closest to the town, is spending the most on upgrades, approximately $6 million, including a new quad chairlift to replace the old South Peak double chair, which will nbe moved to an expanded beginner’s area.

Vail ski resort 2011

Vail, which as well as being a famous ski resort in Colorado actually owns four other famous ski resorts in Colorado and California, has announced it is spending up to 85 million dollars on “enhancing the guest experience” at its ski areas ahead of next winter. “Now that the 2009–2010 ski season is over, we are already looking ahead to next ski season and starting work on projects that continue to enhance the world-class experience at Vail Resorts for all of our guests,” said Rob Katz, chairman and chief executive officer for Vail Resorts.
