Val d’Isère, already one of the most exciting and lively après-ski resorts in the world, has several new venues this winter for visitors to try out once the lifts close for the day.

The imaginatively named ‘Oh! Crazy Barm’s brasserie is one of the newest members to Val’s already impressive collection of trendy, modern hot-spots. It boasts a light and airy décor, bright colours and ice-capped walls, Oh! Crazy Barm’s introduces a fresh take on traditional alpine bars and restaurants.

If you like some live outdoor music as you come back off the slopes in Val d’Isère then stop by the new terrace which has opened this season at Doudoune Le Chalet. This new après-ski music hub for the village offers live music every Thursday from 4:30pm from local rock band ‘Mullit.’
Although not a wholly new venue, one of the anticipated après-ski re-launches in years has seen the revamping of established legendary venue in the village, the infamous Dick’s Tea Bar.

Everyone from season workers to royalty have graced the dance floor at Dick’s, which is now under new management. Improvements include an upgraded sound and light systems, a complete new layout, a new drinks menu and brand new furniture.

Val d’Isère season is set to finish in style with the legendary end-of-season concerts held in the Tourist Office square from 5pm on the 26th, 28th and 29th April.

This year, the Skiing World Cup will have a distinctly British feel as the competition celebrates Britain’s contribution all things ski. 2010 is the year the Criterium begins to celebrate the racers and nations who have shaped the world of skiing. The first of these festivals is dedicated to the Brits, those pioneers of skiing and inveterate competitors! To have Britain celebrated first and foremost is a real honour.

Val d’ Isère has announced a number of improvements on its slopes, shared with neighbouring Tignes in the giant Espace Killy region, this winter. A new easy blue run, Petit Bois, is being created in the Fornet Sector. A second new trail Acticross is a new fun course for children on the Mont Blanc piste in the heart of the calm skiing zone on the Bellevarde sector.

Val d’Isère will host the 55th edition of the “Critérium de la Première Neige” from 11th — 19th December and this winter the resort is going “Brilliantly British.” The ‘British theme’ is part of a conscious decision the famous resort has made to theme this event on a different country every year from now on.

Lenzerheide already has the biggest hotel hammam in the Alps located at Hotel Schweizerhof, but the new H2Lai wellness pool will guarantee further exhilaration after a day on the ski slopes.
