March has been designated as family month in Whistler in Canada

Whistler has designated March as families month and intends to use the whole month to highlight what the leading US consumer Ski Magazine ranked as one of the top-10 family resorts. On the North American continent.

On the slopes families will want to explore the Magic Castle on Blackcomb Mountain and the hidden tree fort on Whistler Mountain while the Coca-Cola Tube Park, located in the Base 2 Zone on Blackcomb Mountain, offers great fun for the whole family.

The park has six to eight lanes varying in difficulty from green to blue to black. Lanes are 1,000 feet long and a conveyor lift takes you back up. There is even a mini zone with mini-tubes for younger kids (or adults) looking to join in the fun.

Only one Canadian hotel gets five diamonds

Just one hotel in Canada has been given five diamonds – the equivalent of the European five stars award – by North America’s two leading motoring organisations – the equivalent of the AA and the RAC – and it’s in a ski resort! The Four Seasons Resort in Whistler, which opened five years ago, has been given the American Automobile Association (AAA) and was the only Canadian hotel so honoured. Less than .3% of the 58,000 rated lodgings in the US, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean receive the five diamond award.
