Bode Miller has denied reports that he will definitely compete in the upcoming season’s World Cup. Rainer Salzgeber — director of Miller’s Head team — had been quoted saying that his number one skier had already committed to the 2009/10 campaign.
But in his online diary twice World Cup champion Miller (pictured) denied the reports.
“It seems like an incomplete quote,” Miller said. “In my experience, reporters make up quotes; they can get away with it because there’s nothing you can do about it except just get mad at them.
“I’m sure the article was read by a lot of people and that’s what they are after.”
Miller added that he was thinking about taking a break from World Cup and Olympic scene.
“I’m just not happy when I’m there,” explained the 2008 World Cup champion. “I need some time away, which I have this summer.”
Miller confirmed that he would definitely ski “somewhere” next season, but still had not made up his mind about the 2009/10 World Cup.
