The European summer skiing season is still going strong, with pistes open in all of our reported countries. The weather is forecast to be predominantly bright and sunny this weekend, while the temperatures on the glacier ski areas will remain low helping to preserve the snow cover.
The southern hemisphere winter skiing season is starting to wind down now.
Three of our reported resorts in Australia, two in New Zealand and three in Chile have closed for the season. This is the last weekend of snowsports for the remaining open Australian resorts, which all plan to close on Sunday. Four more resorts in New Zealand are also scheduled to close for the season on Sunday.
Las Lenas in Argentina has Saturday 3 October scheduled as their last day of the 2009 winter season.
