Five summer skiing destinations are currently open for snowsports; three in Austria, one in Italy and one in Switzerland.
Changeable weather is expected across the continent this week and this is expected to bring snowfall, with the most forecast for the Swiss resorts.
In North America Timberline in Oregon is still open. The snow depths have fallen since Thursday but good spring skiing can still be enjoyed across the resort.
In New Zealand it is now possible to ski on both the North and South islands. Turoa opened at the weekend two weeks ahead of schedule and Coronet Peak opened as planned on Saturday.
Despite it being the opening weekend for many resorts in Australia it is only possible to ski at Perisher Blue, which has opened the Front Valley area.
Snow fell during the weekend at many resorts and more is forecast for the week ahead.
All of our reported South American resorts are yet to open for their 2009 winter season.
